The worst part about me being a horrible blogger is that I am pretty sure I haven't even mentioned our adoption since maybe July! Seriously! Well, a few months ago a sibling group was brought to our attention, a four year old girl and a 9 month old girl. They had just been dropped off at one of the orphanages that our agency works with, and the baby was really sick. So we began praying for her, praying that her little body would be healed and praying about the possibility of adopting them. I have been hounding my social worker to see if they were adoptable yet, and to see what we could do to make sure all of our paperwork would be in order to adopt two instead of one. Well, we found out yesterday that the baby has passed away. We are so sad about this, we are sad that she had to suffer so much in her short little life and we are especially sad for her sweet sister who has now lost all of her family. I know that she is in a better place, I know that sounds so cliche, but I know it is true. I am also thankful to know that all of the caretakers at the orphanage loved her so much and did everything they could to save her. I know that God had a purpose for her life, she touched so many lives without ever knowing it.
I know that we were never officially referred these girls, but it is still hard because I spent so much time picturing our family with these sweet girls in it. So now, we are pretty sure that the sister is healthy and will go on to be a healthy referral, which we would not receive because we are not next on the referral list. We are now praying that God would bring her to a family that would love her exactly how she needs to be loved.
So unless something else happens we are back to the waiting list, and my best guess is that we are 12 to 16 on the waiting list. I really have no idea what that means, maybe we would get a referral in the next 3 to 6 months? This adoption process really isn't for the faint of heart and definitely isn't something you do on a whim. Oh and my blog isn't private anymore, not sure if I ever mentioned that either.
