Happy Birthday Kevin!!!

We decided for Kevin's birthday we would drive to Denver and go to Fuddruckers. Sounds easy enough except that just as we were leaving it began to snow and it snowed a few inches in about an hour and half. So there were a few of us that were crazy enough to continue on and a some that came to their senses and drove back home. (We missed you!) So here is a picture of us enjoying our delicious burgers and shakes. Sorry Peter and Christa we didn't take any pictures while you were there. Thanks to all of our friends that risked thier lives to celebrate Kev's birthday with us.

Happy Birthday Kev, I love you.On the adoption front: We will pick up our physicals tomorrow and then we will be ready to send in our formal application. Yeah! The next step will be to start our homestudy and dossier (the paperwork that we send to Ethiopia). I am getting more and more excited the closer we get to our sweet baby!

The blood work from our physicals was not back today, bummer! It should be in on Tuesday, so Tuesday is my new goal date to send our formal application in.

Progress

We had a pretty productive weekend, we got Cooper's (our dog) vaccination records, we got all of our birth certificates and we took a CPR/First Aid course. Okay, written out it doesn't seem like that much but it took a lot of time so it feels like a lot. We still have quite a bit to do, but I think I am going to try to get together as much as I can and get it to our social worker this week. That may be a little ambitious but today I am feeling ambitious.

Holy Paperwork!!!

We had our appointment at our adoption agency this morning to start our formal application. Our social worker is so sweet and walked us through all of the paper work as Kaden and Oliver ran around the office. We couldn't find a babysitter last minute so we packed a bag full of toys and books. At the office, however, they had a bunch of donated toys in the office so of course those looked like more fun and so they helped themselves. Our social worker was so sweet to continue through all of the paperwork with us even through Oliver's two blowouts, yes, two! So by the time we left with our large stack of things to do their whole office reeked. Sorry. They were so sweet and told us how great and well behaved the boys were, but it still felt a little crazy. So now the paper chasing begins!

Another post...finally!

I have been encouraged (shamed) by a friend to write another post so here it goes. We don't have much news to report on the adoption front, but we have chosen the adoption agency we are going to work with. There are many reasons, but the one that sticks out the most is that they are located in town and we can actually talk face to face with a real human being. So, we are meeting with a social worker on Friday to go over the Formal Application and get the process started, Yeah!!! Hopefull there will be no big hang ups from here, but you never know. What I am already learning in these very early stages of adoption is that international adoption is a very complicated thing. So please pray that this process will go as smoothly as possible.

Since I don't have a lot of new adoption news I thought I would put a little post about Oliver's first professional hair cut. I had intended on getting pictures of him sitting in the big chair getting his hair cut but instead I was sitting in the chair holding a very terrified one year old. Needless to say he did not enjoy his haircut and I did not get a picture of him getting his haircut. Instead I took a couple of aftershots that I thought I would post, and of course his big brother wanted his picture taken also and since he is so cute I thought I would go ahead and post him as well.
