We had our first homestudy meeting today! It was pretty painless, it was our first meeting with both Kevin and I. Our next meeting will be in a couple of weeks, it will be half with both of us and then I will do my individual meeting and she will do our home saftey inspection. Our social worker was very sweet and not intimidating at all. We did get a little discouraging news, it seems that here in good ole' Colorado things seem to move rather slow. Our social worker thinks that between waiting for background checks and our I-171 that we probably won't be able to send our dossier to Ethiopia until Octoberish. That seems like forever. I am hoping that this is an over estimation but I am going to tell myself October and if it gets there earlier then I will just be happy. So for now I will just prepare for our home inspection. I have bought two fire extinguishers, I have a fire escape ladder on order, I think my cleaning supplies are already in safe places (thanks to Oliver), and I think that may be it, please let me know if you know of other things that I need to do to make sure our home is a safe place for children. I am guessing that since both of my children are safe that hopefully that means it is in fact a safe place. Oh and yes we purchased a First-Aid kit that I am sure will come in handy with my accident prone boys. So it really feels like things are moving along although I know I am in for a very long wait soon so it feels good to get the things done that I have some control over.
Thank you so much to sweet Heidi and Jack for watching the boys today. Kaden woke up from his nap and cried when his "friend Jack" wasn't there to play. Thanks again I REALLY appreciate it.
I also wanted to say Happy 30th Birthday to Peesharoni!!!! I have known Licia since the second grade and I cannot believe that we are alreay 30. That means that we have been friends for something like 23 years. That is crazy! I hope that you have a wonderful birthday and a very blessed 30th year. Love you!!!
